Sandy’s Handicap Pennant team continued its march up the Divisions on 24 May by taking out the final in Division 5 at Werribee. The team triumphed over Craigieburn by 4 matches to 3 when Geoff Thornton held his nerve to win the last match on the 18th 2 up. Geoff was undefeated in all 7 matches this year (as was his opponent ) and saw the team across the line by winning 17 and 18. Other winners in the final were James Pollock (3&1), Wayne Wallis (8&7) and Bill Nicholl (4&3), Congratulations to Captain James Pollock and the team for their undefeated season and their 4th Pennant in a row.
Sandy’s scratch team was narrowly beaten in their final on 31 May.
