By-Laws
- The course of the club shall be the Sandringham Municipal Golf Course, Cheltenham Road, Cheltenham, Ph. 9598 3590, and the scorecard to be used for paly on the course by the members shall be that provided from time to time by the Committee.
- The rules of Golf, as approved by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews from time to time and adopted by the Australian Golf Union shall be the rules of the club.
- The Australian Course Rating and Handicapping system as adopted from time to time by the Australian Golf Union shall be the method used by the Club to determine the golf handicap of each member.
- A player in any club competition shall ensure that his name is written on all entry sheets or lists provided for the purpose, and that the correct entry fee is paid before commencing play. Failure to comply with either of these conditions will be the cause for disqualification from the competition.
- In any club competition it shall be the responsibility of each player to ensure that his name, initial, handicap and the date are written legibly on his scorecard, together with the correct number of strokes taken on each hole, and that the card is signed by his marker and him before it is returned to the box provided by the Committee. Every competition card, whether or not complete, must be return immediately at the conclusion of the round.
- It shall be the responsibility of the player with the lowest handicap in any group to ensure that all players in the group observe the etiquette of golf for the full enjoyment of the game both by that group and others.
- A player may start a competition from either the first or the tenth tee but not otherwise without the express permission of the Committee.
- The Committee may declare any competition to be cancelled even though it may have already been played, and no member who has competed in that event have any claim in respect thereof beyond the return of the entry fee paid.
- Any player may complain or protest under the rules or the conditions of a competition about any incident arising from that competition. Such a protest shall be made in writing, shall set out clearly the grounds of the protest and the facts of the incident and shall be signed by the complainant. The protest shall be given to the Secretary or mail to mail at his official address within 24 hours of the close of competition where it arises. A protest shall be dealt with by the Committee with seven day of its receipt by the Secretary.
- Standing orders for meeting-copies are available from the Secretary.
- No partner of a player may mark his card in any competition. A player's card must be marked by an independent person, preferably a fellow competitor, but in the absence of such, any member of the public shall suffice. Should a marker not be a fellow competitor that player shall ensure that the markers name is shown on the card legibly and that his or her telephone number is given for contact purposes if this is needed.
