Sandringham Golf Club members play on one of Melbourne's best 18 hole public golf courses - Sandringham Golf Links - in the heart of Melbourne's sand-belt. The Club holds Saturday competitions in three grades with a prize for each grade, and a prize for the best nett score each week. Regular stroke, par and stableford events are held, plus a number of major trophy events each year, and monthly medal events.
Members of the Club pay normal green fees for 18 holes plus a competititon fee of $3 if they enter the competition. A ball competition is run every Saturday by the pro shop, with an entry fee of $2. There are a number of winners of a ball each week and each winner has the choice of any brand of ball in the shop.
A nominal joining fee of $90 and an annual subscription fee of only $90 makes membership an inexpensive way to enjoy regular competitive golf with a nationally-recognised handicap.
This means affordable golf for players who only have time for weekend golf and don't want to pay the high cost of membership charged by many private clubs.
Membership includes $20 million dollar public liability insurance cover as protection for damage or injury to others while playing golf.
